Iceland in the Desert

"Seriously?"  --  That was my first reaction when I first heard of Ice Land, followed by , "Why would they do that?"   My curiosity led me to look for it on Youtube. Thinking out loud, "No way.."  That evening, my husband returned home with entrance tickets for some deals he found on Cobone.

Ice Land Water Park is located in Ras Al Khaimah, north of United Arab Emirates.  Park timings:  Sun - Wed , Fri 10:00 am- 6:00 pm /  Thurs  & Sat  10:00 am - 7:00pm .   How to get there? Click here
There's also a ladies night on Fridays from 8:00 pm - 12 midnight.

Over the years living here,  we started getting used to flamboyant developments that are over the top coming up several times in  a year.  I can't complain because they keep kids, tourists, residents and expats entertained.  You see, apart from the desert, after exploring all the touristy areas navigable by land, we run out of things to do here especially during summer when the oven-like heat leaves us breathless.  I'm glad however for agreeing to go because we had a great time!

Being in the desert heat, the sight of ice and snow (even though they're not real) psychologically helps to feel more refreshed , with the illusion that we are some where else.  It's a great distraction from work over the weekend. (Feel free to throw and lock your blackberry in the locker).  I love the covered walkways that lead up to various slides and rides -they well serve as protection under the scorching heat of the sun. Surprisingly, we had great fun there!

Dare to jump?

I love water parks. They unleash my inner kid.
Do you like water adventures?
XOXO,
