Le Potager

One of the most fascinating part of the french lifestyle is le jardin potager, the vegetable garden where they plant everything essential in the kitchen to prepare the palate stimulating meals.

Here are some of the images taken in Chateau de Chenonceau in the Loire Valley in France. Le jardinage or gardening is an inherent part of their culture which could be traced back in history.  This is my source of inspiration when it comes to laying out the arrangement of various crops.

During summer, they take pride in cultivating  herbs to a huge variety of legumes surrounded by fruit bearing trees. The family would usually give the house guests a tour of their garden before enjoying an afternoon coffee at the terrace. Imagine a starter with freshly harvested lettuce and the most plump tomatoes you've ever seen.  We have a very small backyard at the moment, but I'm currently taking advantage of the small space and lots of pots.

A healthy organic diet and a beautiful back garden-- dreamy.
Have a great Sunday everyone! Bisous!
XOXO,
Arni
