Friends + Food = Happy

"Happiness is only real when shared."- Jon Krakauer, Into the Wild

It was a foggy Dubai this morning.  Weekend was blissful. I just finished reading Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom last Saturday and my eyes puffed from this tear jerker.  This book made me spend a lot of time with friends, the ones closest to family I have here in Dubai.  Make each moment with them count and try to be as present as I could ever be with each of them.

Quality time with my god-daughter. She's the daughter of one of my best friends and we, along with her parents had a great time as I took pictures of her. She's so at ease with the camera.

Lunch with girlfriends. The apartment makeover led to a celebration of food where my friend, Christine cooked a hearty Italian meal. Check out the design post here .

She made garlic bread from scratch that was crunchy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth moist inside.

This year, the social calendar had a great start.
I'm catching up with girlfriends at Karma Cafe tonight.
How was your weekend? What did you do?
Any inspiring books you've read lately? Any recommendations?

Happy Tuesday!
XOXO,
Arni

  2. I really loved The Snow Child, which is a slow moving literary read.

I feel like I've neglected my friends trying to get my book out, and I'm using this post as my personal inspiration to get back on track.

And I'm off to visit that design post!

  3. What a precious little one! And all of the food looks delicious!
I would like to recommend Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay. A fiction WWII novel but an actual event in France most people don't know about. So heartbreaking, touching and gripping!

  4. Very beautiful pictures of your god-daughter and the italian meal looks delicious!

I sometimes feel sorry that I cannot spend enough time with my friends as we're all living our lives in different places now, but we try to write to each others as much as possible and it's always lovely when we meet during the holidays :)

I was doing some sightseeing this weekend with some colleagues of my boyfriend and then we went to watch The Misérables, it was nice!

    Have a great week!
