Happiness This Week
A collection of moments captured that brought happiness, joy and content to me this week. You must have seen this on Instagram. I don't want to miss out on the beautiful gifts that God unleashes on a daily basis. So I thought of a gratitude post to focus on what I hold dear.

Just landed myself my third visit to the dentist in France.
The first two was a result of a pain I suffered in the plane on my way here that ended up in a root canal. This was sadly due to a bad job I got from my previous dentist, from another country. Yes, of all the place and time, right? And without medical insurance..haha, I will just have to laugh this one off and swallow a big gulp of Kirsch.

Guess what? My pre-molar was split into two while biting on a lost small chicken bone in the bouchée à la reine and a really hard-as-a-rock baguette.
I finally got it pulled out this morning. The dentist is amazing by the way. She totally rocks and wouldn't mind her doing implants for me as long as it won't cost me my arm and leg. Since this is the case, and the cost would be... tantararan...expensive, I would have to wait until I'm back in the Philippines.

So as tears rolled down my face when the anaesthesia wore off, I ate my daughter's puree for lunch while nursing a missing tooth, I reminded myself, "Everything happens for the best and definitely for a reason." Ok, I don't know what reason that might be but I am believing it anyway.
The upside to it is, I got a time-off today watching the latest episode of Game of Thrones Season 5 (disturbing by the way) and a new wish to ask from Santa this Christmas. "Dear Santa, I wish for a tooth implant before this Christmas. If it's it's too early to ask, well in case you're on a first come first serve basis, then I hope I can make it on your priority list."
The bicycle ride was a great distraction and so was that wonderful walk with my family on the wide pavement I wish I can bring with me everywhere.

ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the dentist. Tons of people from Western Europe often come to my city on medical tourism because dentists and plastic surgeons are much much cheaper here

ReplyDeleteOh dear, sorry to hear about the pain and the dental work you had done. If if makes you feel better, Alex chipped my front tooth recently when he crashed into my mouth. Beautiful moments of happiness you've captured though - thanks for sharing!
