Happy Walk Series France: Le Sentier de l'écluse

"In every walk in nature, one receives more than he seeks." - John Muir. Walking heals the soul. As we all know it, it's cheaper than therapy. This is what got me started on the Happy Walk Series. Life is not perfect and much as we radiate perfect bliss on social media, more often than not, it's not always what it seems. On the contrary, this is when nature, for me, steps in. A reminder that a Higher Power, Someone in control, beyond our own effort and knowledge did create such magnificence. With the reassurance of every tree caressed by the wind,  He can transform my life, my unknown future into something "meaning"-ful and yes, magnificent.

The sandy circuit of Le Sentier de l'écluse is 5.3 km long. Guess what?
We missed a turn and ended up doing a 9 km hike instead.  Sometimes, despite following instructions, we get derailed, we end up in a detour.  The trail reminded me of life's struggles we have to face with every hill of sand we had to climb. The journey takes longer but we all end up where we are supposed to be in the end.  Thank goodness, we made it a point to use the baby carrier.  The steep sandy slopes did prove a great leg workout. Despite the pain, we all enjoyed this trail very much. It will give you a chance to be in the forest, a walk by a quiet beach, with the bridge overlooking the landscape as a treat.  From time to time, we came across equestrians exploring the same trail with their horses as we traversed bike paths that lead to major sites of the circuit. 2. I like the fact that you take these beautiful long hikes with your family, especially with your kid. I see a traveler in the making. She would definitely keep up the tradition when she gets older. :)

I love how you compared walking to life, you're right, no matter how hard the struggle is, it always leads us to where we're supposed to be.
