Coron Eats: Fika

What's new in Coron, Palawan?

Looking for a great breakfast destination? If you're just about to hit your head with the same breakfast menu from your hotel and you're fed up of your si-log breakfast  for several days in a row, grab your book or your travel companion and drag them to Fika in Bancuang along Coron National Highway a stone throw away from Sea Coral Lodge right across Coffee Kong (also a good coffee place I wrote about during earlier trips).

Fika is a Swedish term for coffee break. I like the distinctively unique sound of their name. It's located at the upper level of a two-storey commercial building.  The cafe interior is inviting and warm with its own character that sits well with their brand identity.

The owners are said to be the same owners of Santinos.

Fika might be on the higher price range but it offers generous and well sized serving. Cost is roughly around Php 550 for 2 persons. My husband and I ordered their famous-I understand-why-you -must-try spanish omelette.  Perfectly seasoned with an interesting filling of julienned onions and herbs with every bite partnered with a refreshing Iced Americano, a mug of Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate (they also have the local Hot Tablea Tsokolate), and a good plate of Waffles with butter, syrup and peanut butter on the side.

Verdict:  Highly Recommended

Have you tried Fika?
For breakfast, which type are you -
the sweet-tooth or the savory loving kind?
As long as I have my coffee. :)
Love & light,
Arni

  1. I remember Coffee Kong! It's where my friends and I hang out during our brief stay in Coron. Oh god I miss Coron, I really wanna go back.

I haven't tried Fika though, this is the first time I've heard about it actually. I would definitely go there when I go back. If it's owned by the same people behind Santino's then the food there is probably good.

I like savory food for breakfast and of course coffee, I can skip everything else but coffee. :)

    1. Fika was still under construction when we visited last September. Would love to hear what you think about it when you visit Fika. Cheers to savory food for brekkie.

    1. They were 😊. I think they would have been even better if I added a dollop of Nutella with it, going for savory and sweet.
