Life in the Philippines
Fish Feeding in Nuvali
It's the weekend and a diversion is due. A case of wanderlust and itchy feet. Nuvali, in Sta. Rosa -Canlubang, Laguna, south of Manila is a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of the metro. A master planned development that is sustainable and environment friendly surrounded by medium to high end subdivisions with a harmonious suburban vibe. There are pavements wide enough for jogging and walking. There are smooth roads and off road trails ideal for biking. Yes, you can rent bikes here too.
One of the major attractions here is a 4 hectare lake in Solenad that serves as a storm catchment, water reservoir and fire reserve that is navigable by water taxis. Here you'll find the omnivorous Koi fish that help maintain the water's cleanliness. Feeding the Koi fish has become a fun activity for both the young and old. Fish feeding is open daily from Mondays to Sunday 8AM to 5PM.

Nuvali used to be a mere stop over on the way to the hilly Tagaytay City. As of late, it has become a destination for families, bike enthusiasts and friends craving a weekend break where more and more indoor and outdoor activities are rapidly becoming popular.
My daughter was amused by the hungry fish and had a wonderful time running around in the massive green space interspersed with commercial establishments.
Have a lovely Sunday!
Love & light,
Arni

I've heard so much from friends about Nuvali but I've never been there. They say it's easier to go there by car. It looks like a good place for that weekend trip. I'd sure love to feed those fish!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's much easier and more convenient accessing it by car. I haven't tried commuting to get there yet but I heard there are Balibago/Sta.Rosa buses from Gil Puyat Ave. and there are some jeep/bus in Alabang's Metropolis Mall. Not sure but I also heard there are Balibago via Sta Rosa exit FX/ UV Express in Ayala Bus Terminal in Makati. I like Nuvali for its tranquility and growing community and the Koi fish were so entertaining to watch.
DeleteOooh, so many fish!
ReplyDeletePS why is the kid dressed all in black?
Haha, I think she has a Gothic thing going on. :) I realized most of her clothes are black, white and neutrals. Need to get her more colorful clothes.
DeleteI thought it was a cultural thing or something :) It is not that I mind, but kids really do need to wear colours because they inspire their imagination and inspire cheerful and positive feelings and moods, and they're fun too. It is a more of a psychological thing than fashion
DeleteThat's a lot of fish! My kids, when they were your daughter's age, would have been mesmerized by them!
ReplyDeleteHello Sherry, all clustered very closely together, they are fun to watch indeed. :)
DeleteThat's a lot of fish! And looks like a fun time. It reminds me of the time I used to feed the koi in my friend's pond, they come right up and suck on my hands if I let them, always a fun experience!
ReplyDeleteHi Trishie, that's a fun childhood experience. I hope she remembers it one day. We will try to do this more often.
DeleteYour little one is getting so big! What a special experience to share with her. :)
ReplyDeleteI was watching old videos of her on my phone while we were away this weekend and indeed, she has changed so much in so little time. I hope we get to take her to more trips.
DeleteOne of the main attraction in Nuvali is their cinema, super comfy, big screen and great sound systems. Must-try! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Josephine. That's a great reason for me to return. The last time I was there they were still under construction. I really like Nuvali. It's a great area to live in.
