A Coffee Date at Magnum Opus Fine Coffee

A coffee date with family on a lazy Sunday afternoon. It's a newly forged tradition of ours that I'd like to keep, to enjoy quality time with family whenever we are in the city. A time to really talk and share the blissful bonding moment over a cup of good coffee.

Magnum Opus Fine Coffees offers specialty coffee. The brand name speaks for itself, a masterpiece in a cup. It is definitely a place for coffee connoisseurs.

It was first suggested to me by a dear friend, Tricia. I remember this being our original meet up venue. Sadly, due to full parking at that time, we moved to another location. There were succeeding plans to visit Magnum Opus after that, but none of them ever happened.

Not until a year later, we spontaneously decided to drop by. My husband and sis, Allu just completed their vape exploits at Vapemix in Ruins. Under a humid grey weather, we walked along Aguirre Avenue towards the corner of J. Elizalde Street for a coffee fix at Magnum Opus.

Cafe artsy vibe interior. There is free wi-fi.
The Chilled Menu. We are definitely coming back for the Hot Brew.

Japanese Drip Coffee is definitely a masterpiece in the carafe! Starts at Php 150 (USD $ 3.23)
Chilled Latte Php 150 (USD $ 3.23) tastes heavenly.
Chilled Belgian Chocolate  Php 150  (USD $ 3.23).  Milk poured over Belgian Chocolate Ganache.

Since coming back to the Philippines, my husband and I are drawn to BF Aguirre Ave.  We both love the laid back vibe and the steadily growing culinary scene.

How to Get There by Car:

If you're familiar with Paranaque, take Sucat exit from SLEX to Dr. A. Santos Avenue. Turn left at the intersection of SM City BF. Continue straight along President's Avenue and turn right at Aguirre Avenue. You will know it's Aguirre Avenue. once you spot Tropical Hut at the corner. Be ready with your ID to secure a gate pass at the BF Gate.  Drive straight until you reach a traffic signal intersecting J. Elizalde Street. It's right there at the left-hand corner.

2nd Floor, The Prime Building, 115 Aguirre Ave., BF Homes Paranaque.

How to Get There by Commuting:

Since we don't own a car in Manila, we usually travel via public transport.  If you're coming from Makati, I like taking the UV Express Service to Sucat at Ayala Center Makati Terminal. There are also buses coming from the north that are Sucat-bound

As soon as you reach Dr. A. Santos Avenue, I enjoy taking the BF Homes Shuttle Service Jeepney at the Caltex Station in front of Shopwise and Santana Grove.  You can take either "Lopez" or "Southland" destination. Southland turns left at J.Elizalde Street while Lopez will continue along Aguirre. The fare is roughly Php 10 per person or even less.

Another mode of transport is a BF tricycle at the station along President's Avenue.

Budget for 2: Approx. Php 550
