A Slice of Provincial Life

When you live in the middle of a rice field, it's amazing to see the changes in the landscape daily. You'll have a water buffalo hanging out chewing grass during his break or a month old calf peeking through your glass window. Toads harmoniously chant their own operatic version of Don Giovanni while you have a pack of teenage dogs howling in front of your bedroom window after midnight. My husband and I kill gazillions of mosquitoes a day but the best part of living here, so far, are cozy rainy afternoons.

I am posting photos taken in different periods during our stay here:

Have a great week everyone!

    1. Most houses have mosquito screens installed on the windows. Unfortunately, we don't have one yet. We might install some soon. We apply dollops of mosquito repellent and always armed with mosquito sprays. I'm just concerned protecting our little one so we're always covering her up and making sure she's protected. Dengue cases are high in many areas here.

    1. He's so adorably funny. This morning, he was trying to figure out how to get through the wooden bar that the construction workers provided outside. To watch a calf doing limbo is hilarious. I should have filmed it. :)

  4. Looks like you are living quite a peaceful life. I long for rainy afternoons, in the province, not in the city. There's just something beautiful about it, something romantic. This makes me want to just to and take a trip somewhere nice, even for a weekend. Just to escape the city noise. I've been getting sick lately because of stress. I need to recuperate.

    1. The province is really a great place to recharge. Lots of vibrant energy from nature, food for the soul I guess. A weekend retreat in the countryside sounds like an excellent idea for a much deserved break.

    1. We were drawn by the slow pace and laid back lifestyle in the province. The great thing about living not too far away from the city, urban cure is just two hours drive away.
