Maquinit Hot Spring
Three years ago, this exact spot was where my brother proposed to his ex-fiancee. The whole family planned it all along. Sadly, some things are not meant to be, but this place will always leave a trace of that memory. So when we dropped by for a short stop over while we were cruising on a motorbike,I can't help myself from remembering that time.
A cascade of pools warmed by a geothermal spring next to a dried mangrove. The bumpy ride to get there is worth the trouble as soon as you dip in the water by sunset. It is simply invigorating especially after a long hike up Mt. Tapyas in Coron, Palawan.
It was empty that afternoon. Most tourists were at the island hopping tours around this time of the day so we had the place to ourselves for a short stop.
Tip: Buy fresh seafood from the local market and enjoy an evening barbecue with the family under one of these huts.
Love & Light,
Arni

such delight!
ReplyDeleteThat was certainly a romantic spot to propose! A dip in the hot springs sounds like a fun thing to do and the evening barbecue with fresh seafood sounds perfect too. A great day out.
