Eating Dates

This weekend, as we were driving to Abu Dhabi to paraglide, we were amused to see several parked cars at the side of the road.  Families were picking ripe dates from the lined up date trees  bordering the highway.  Each tree was heavily loaded with ripe dates ready for harvesting.  It's the date season.  It's nice to see that at least many people get to enjoy them.Otherwise, these sweet desert fruit fall straight to the ground.
