10 Things to do in SF: #1 Get Breakfast at Mama's

U.S. is a country I'll never tire of visiting. The greatest discovery for me there was how amazing the food is! It was obvious by the 2 kilograms we've gained within 2 weeks. A two-week vacation in San Francisco was a delight. Restaurants, breweries, food trucks, heavenly fast food, quaint coffee shops, record stores I can spend hours in and the antique book shops! Speaking of great food,  Mama's on Washington Square served the best breakfast I've ever had in my life!

Check out the long queue everyday. Definitely worth the wait!

Mama's on Washington Square is a family run restaurant serving freshly baked goods, made to order breakfast and lunch for over 50 years.  A long queue is expected daily.  Expect to wait for half an hour.

I asked my cousin who's a frequent visitor of the restaurant why they didn't expand the dining area.  The restaurant aims to preserve the quaint atmosphere sticking to quality, ensuring that the same number of diners are served.

Corner of Filbert and Stockton Street

Opening Hours: Open daily from 8AM-3PM. Closed on Mondays.
Location:  Right in front of Washington Square Park, at the corner of  Stockton Street and Filbert Street. How to get there? Click here

Check out nearby destinations after breakfast:  Coit Tower and Telegraph Hill
The queue extends inside as we place our order and wait to get seated.
Happy to have placed our order from the mouthwatering menu
Mama's French Toast with homemade jam and roasted potatoes
Scrambled Florentine: Baby Spinach, Red onion, bacon and white cheddar cheese with grilled potatoes
Off to a great start:  A group pic on our first day in San Francisco, on a fourth of July, birthday morning.
You'll have to try the famous Montecristo, roasted Turkey breast, honey caked ham, cheddar and gruyere cheese battered in egg and grilled, served with Homemade Jam.

I'm lucky to have my cousin, Nikki and her husband, Paul tour us. Best tour guides ever, as they showed us both popular and hidden gems of the Bay Area.

Thank you so much for your kinds words on my previous post. Sadly, my other grandmother also passed away yesterday. Unfortunately, I'm unable to travel due to some latest happenings which I will share with you soon.

We're presently enjoying a long Eid holiday weekend. With a lot more time in my hands during this long break expect daily posts on Things to Do in SF in the next couple of days and we'll be back to once/twice a week posts next week.
Love and light,
Arni

P.S.  This is not a sponsored post.  I'm happy to share the delicious dining experience with you.

  5. Isn't it crazy how long you have to wait in line in SF to get into a good place? My only gripe :)
