Themed Party
80's Flashback Party
The 80s. A very colorful era. My girlfriends and I decided to throw a Post-Valentine Party last Friday with our partners in tow. We dressed up, after rummaging our closets (some in the New Yorker store) for something that could closely resemble an outfit in the 80s.
I've written posts, from time to time, regarding our formed friendship and of our love for throwing themed parties - almost monthly, where each one brings something. Last month, our friend Princes cooked for us a seven-course meal as she demonstrated her cooking prowess at the same house, while we wined and dined at the nicely decorated table setting. Formally dressed. Yes, gowns, suits and all, bossa nova music, fresh flowers and candles.

Fun loving and crazy -That's what we all have in common.
Normally, we'd prepare a meal from scratch.
This time, we wanted a relaxed no fuss weekend at Gail's place.
Our host prepared bite sized meals to keep the conversation going at the table.
The party extended till dinner where we ordered pizzas and a bucket of chicken goodness.

Makeup and hair: The hardest part was getting the hair done. It was my husband who taught me how to do it, after he found me with a hairbrush completely stuck in my hair (unable to get it off) in the middle of hairspray fumes. He laughed hysterically and showed me how it's done. The other ladies achieved the hairstyle effortlessly.

Music: 80s tunes played continuously throughout the evening. There were occasional moments where we'd freely and openly dance like no one was watching and we'd start laughing at ourselves.
80s: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun |
I just wanted to share a slice of our fun loving craziness.
Would love to have you all join the fun.
Have a great Sunday!
XOXO,
Arni
