An Expat Turned Tourist

Dubai Marina Mall and Pier 7
We have a few weeks left and I realized, I don't have pictures of my daughter taken outdoors to show her someday of her short life in Dubai. Should I create a "gnome" moment for her from the film Amelie? A friend suggested riding the Big Bus Dubai.  I thought, "Hmm..why not?"

My daughter and I joined my husband and his colleagues for lunch at Monte Carlo Restaurant in Dubai Marina. I enjoyed their company, I predict, for the last time. The restaurant offers Arabic lunch of lentils soup, salad and zucchini stuffed with minced meat which were really delicious. They have a kids play area while the parents can enjoy shisha at the terrace with a great view, right across Dubai Marina Mall and Pier 7.

Two hotels later, we have now moved to a friend's place in Dubai. She offered her spare room for the next few weeks until our departure to the Philippines. Monique, an Interior Designer recently redecorated her flat.  She designed and re-upholstered the patchwork sofa. She repainted the walls to light grey, changed the home accessories and dining furniture. She wanted to re-create a more outdoor feel to her space.

Would you like to see more of her place?
Love & light,
Arni

  2. I've seen a lot of these kind of cushions, recently. It must be the new trend. Dubai looks like such a great city. I'd love to visit it someday.
