The Piano @ TMG

The yellow polka dot grand piano stands at the heart of the South Observatory Deck of Tokyo Metropolitan Government Tower (TMG).  The Memory Piano is designed by renowned artist Yayoi Kusama. Dare play the Tocho Omoide Piano?

We spent some time waiting in line for our turn at the entrance of the lobby to take the lift. The entrance is free. My sister mentioned that the 360 degree panoramic view is beautiful up on the 45th floor.  I took her word for it because she lives in Tokyo so she knows better.  Her recommendation was spot on.

Opening hours 9AM to 11PM
Nearest Stations: Shinjuku / Tochomae Station  (Toei Oedo Line)

While our children ran around, we admired the Downtown Skyscrapers dominating the Tokyo Skyline in the 360 degree observatory. There were souvenir shops with a cafe in the middle. There is also a restaurant with a stunning view. Families sat by the tables to rest and enjoy the live piano concerto.

Several people queued to play and each performer was eager to show their musical genius. Classical pieces and then some contemporary music drifted throughout the hall.

I inched closer wondering if I could summon up the courage to play.

I didn't.  That was one of my biggest regrets. I just didn't feel good enough. I chickened out. It felt intimidating to play in front of everyone. The nagging thought that springs up every time I see this yellow polka dot piano , "Shoulda Woulda Coulda.."

What is your  biggest shoulda woulda coulda moment?
Love & light,
Arni

    1. Yes! It really stands out. Maybe a flamboyant outfit to match the lovely piano as well?
